Currently, among various sources of pollution, automobiles are drawing particular attention as a sector that significantly impacts environmental pollution. Internal combustion engines in automobiles burn fuel, releasing pollutants such as carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxides into the atmosphere, thereby causing air pollution. As a result, smog occurs in cities with heavy traffic, posing a direct threat to people’s health. Thanks to this mechanism, fuel efficiency is significantly improved compared to conventional internal combustion engine vehicles. On average, hybrid vehicles save about 20–30% more fuel than conventional vehicles, thereby having a positive impact on the environment.
Furthermore, hybrid vehicles are effective at reducing carbon emissions. While gasoline-powered vehicles typically emit approximately 2.38 kg of carbon dioxide per liter, hybrid vehicles consume less fuel, thereby reducing carbon dioxide emissions accordingly. Although electric vehicles are gaining attention as completely zero-emission vehicles, pollutants are still generated during the electricity production process. In contrast, hybrid vehicles reduce emissions while being suitable for long-distance driving, making them ideal for a variety of driving environments both in and outside cities.

Finally, a shift in public perception is also crucial for eco-friendly technologies to take root successfully. People must go beyond simply choosing eco-friendly cars and actively participate in energy conservation and pollution reduction in their daily lives. For example, small actions such as using public transportation instead of private cars or reducing unnecessary consumption can add up to bring about significant change. While the adoption of eco-friendly technologies may be costly in the short term, it is necessary to foster the understanding that this is an investment in the global environment and future generations.
